What is Rural Mercantile?

Rural Mercantile — or “Belinda’s Place” as it’s known locally — is a lifestyle brand boutique in a small town in Missouri. Our brick-and-mortar storefront is a place where locals and tourists gather to sip coffee and shop for unique clothes, accessories, and home goods.

How did Rural Mercantile start?

Rural Mercantile grew from the idea to create a space where customers could shop items that meet the needs of hardworking folks. As an Army veteran and ambitious mom of two boys, Belinda saw a need for affordable yet stylish, comfortable clothes that could be worn from desk to date night or a late-night bonfire with friends. You can even reflect your personal lifestyle at home with our selection of home decor and goods. In-house graphic tees from our RURAL brand even tell a story, featuring local favorite places, events, and history. The best part is that all of our items, while affordable, are from American small businesses and independent artisans, allowing us to support hardworking families right here at home.

Where do you get your merchandise?

Many of our items are made in-house in our own studio. We also source products from passionate artisans, designers, and other small businesses.

What’s your shipping policy?

We provide free shipping on orders over $99. For orders less than $99, standard shipping rates apply. Most orders ship out within 3 days, although made-to-order artwork and other custom orders may take 2-3 weeks or longer.

What if I need my custom order by a certain date?

While we strive to ship custom orders as quickly as possible, though there are certain times when we experience extremely high demand, especially during the holiday seasons. If you need a gift by a certain date, we recommend contacting us regarding our current production timeline to make sure that we’ll be able to accommodate your order.

Do you accept returns?

We accept returns for store credit within 14 days from the date the order is received. The item must be in unused condition with the original receipt and the tags still attached. Because of high order volumes and the risk of selling out of products, we’re not able to offer direct exchanges. Learn more about returns here.

Can I cancel or change my order?

Unfortunately, orders cannot be changed, modified, or canceled after checkout.

Can I stack coupon codes?

Only one coupon code per order can be utilized.

Do you offer financing?

You may be able to buy now and pay later through Sezzle (subject to third-party financer approval).

How do you keep your prices so low?

You might have noticed that our prices are lower than many boutiques, as well as many corporate retailers. Rest assured that we never sacrifice quality to get these low prices. Our products are affordable, but they’re quality. We believe that loyal customers are the heart and soul of any successful small business. We keep our prices low so you’ll want to come back again and again!
